"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who'll decide where to go." - Dr. Seuss
One of my favorite resources today is the GPS. Long gone are the days of road maps and atlases (sorry Rand-McNally!). I can type any address into my phone and the route is automatically calculated for me. Turn by turn, it will get me there.
That is, as long as I've got the address right. It will only take me in the direction toward what I entered as the ultimate destination. I won't get to California if I enter a Florida address.
Jesus says in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly."
Real life. Life filled with joy, peace, and satisfaction for the soul. Life to the fullest! Lots of folks want that, but they've typed in the wrong address to get there. They've typed in the address for comfort or success, popularity or pleasure. They've tried to navigate the road on their own, plotting their course, and then seem confused when they wind up in a place where that abundant life is nowhere to be found.
If you want the path to lead to ultimate satisfaction for the soul, there is only one address to type into your life's GPS: Jesus. Let Him be your destination and direction. Follow His voice, turn by turn, and He'll get you to that place of true life. You alone make the choice of what address you'll plug in.
Choose wisely.
