JM Writing is where faith and life meet on the page.
Behind the initials is me, John Matthews — a pastor, writer, and storyteller who believes words matter because people matter. Writing has long been a way for me to slow down, listen carefully, and reflect honestly on Scripture, everyday life, and the quiet work God is doing in and around us.
This space exists for thoughtful reflection rather than quick answers. Some words here take the shape of devotionals or spiritual reflections. Others come as stories, observations, or questions meant to linger. All of them are written with the same hope: to help readers see God more clearly in the ordinary and the overlooked.
My writing is shaped by years of pastoral ministry, real-life conversations, and a deep love for the Word of God. I write for people who are walking this road — sometimes confidently by faith, sometimes with questions — and who are learning that grace often shows up in small, faithful steps.
JM Writing isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about paying attention. About telling the truth gently. About letting faith speak into real life — right where we are.
