My Shepherd: A Six-Week Devotional

Life has a way of leaving the soul weary.

Along life’s road, many believers find themselves longing for rest, guidance, and renewal—only to discover that peace and fulfillment remain just out of reach. My Shepherd is a gentle invitation to follow the Good Shepherd as He leads His sheep to places of true refreshment.
Anchored in the beloved words of Psalm 23, this six-week devotional walks readers through the Shepherd’s promises of provision, protection, peace, and presence. Through Scripture, stories, personal anecdotes, and thoughtful reflection, readers are guided beyond surface-level faith into a deeper trust in the Lord’s loving care.

Psalm 23 has long been an important passage of Scripture to me. As a pastor, I have leaned on it during seasons of loss and grief, and it has served as a faithful comfort and encouragement. It has provided direction as I have used it to mentor leaders and disciple young believers. But I come to this familiar passage not only from a pastoral perspective but also from a fatherly one. Some years ago, as my children headed off to college, I undertook an endeavor to write them a devotional thought from time to time, continuing to pour into their spiritual development, even as they moved out from under my roof. So began the development of this book - a compilation and expansion of those devotions for my kids. I hope you can hear the heart of both a dad and pastor as you journey through its pages.

Perfect for personal quiet times, My Shepherd is written for those who feel spiritually weary, parched, or longing for renewal—those who desire to rest once again in green pastures and beside quiet waters.

If your heart is tired and your faith feels stretched thin, may this devotional help you find strength and confidence as you learn to say,
“The Lord is my Shepherd.”

If this resonates, the book is now available.
